Watch Review: Tissot Powermatic 80 (T0064071603300)

In News Featured 0 comments

The solid, custom-made buckle on this entry level Tissot piece makes up for the lack of a more sophisticated butterfly buckle, with the accompanying genuine calf leather strap possessing a feel and texture consistent with what industry experts term “second-layer” leather – not top notch, but not bad either. Other standout features include the diamond cut minute and hour hands made to reach the edge of the dial, an as yet untested 80 hours of power reserve, and a relatively competent rotor for price to quality ratio. As should be expected, the watch sits well on the wrists with optimum curvature and sapphire glass crystal adding scratch resistance, although the dial could use some texture and higher end printed details. The overall finishing comes off as rather basic, but it’s well-suited to minimalists looking for the added bonus of a high-tech escapement and a rather generous two years international warranty.

Summary

Good price for an entry level Swiss watch, with the 80 hours power reserve a unique plus point.
